wow can we take a moment to talk about how fuckin kawaii the once-ler is
he’s got books up on a little bedside table, he likes to read, i’m guessing… i wonder what he reads. dimestore romance novels? anyway, he’s also got a really cute tea kettle and teacup… apparently he just leaves his dishes out overnight and doesn’t put them up when he’s done!!!
and then his quilt has a big patch on it… which i’m sure is his doing, having fixed it. like, maybe his family couldn’t afford new quilts/sheets/etc. often, or maybe he just got hand-me-downs and what his family would throw away, otherwise. he doesn’t sleep with sheets on his bed, and i’m not even sure that pillow has a pillowcase. he really just has the quilt and bed itself, it’s pretty bare.
the little quirks and details in this movie are so great. i wonder if he just leaves mugs of tea laying around the factory when he’s corporate and just kind of assumes someone else will clean up his messes while he’s busy flitting from one locale to another…
